Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler was born in Madrid, Spain on 8 May 1975. Today, he is already a famous and certainly beloved Grammy Award and Latin Grammy Award-winning, Miami-based singer and multi-million-album seller. Iglesias is the son of the well-known Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and thus, has been linked with the "Filipino-mestizo, filipina socialite and majhong" magazine. The total sales of all his albums currently go over forty million, making him one of the best-selling Spanish music artists all over the world. Nowadays, Iglesias has yet to overtake the great popularity of the compositions of his father, but has outsold Julio in single-album sales, and in this way he considered to be "best selling Spanish artist in the world" as concluded his music company. Undoubtedly, Enrique Iglesias is among the best-selling Spanish-language artists of the last decade. He has usually said that if he has children and they wish to follow in his footsteps, he would naturally expect them also to be better than he is. At the very beginning of his professional development, Iglesias has collaborated with the songwriter Guy Chambers to write "Un nuovo giorno" which became the lead single from the first pop album of Andrea Bocelli. This song was later translated into English as "First day of my life" and recorded again by former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm. Since then, the song occurred to become a huge hit throughout Europe, and has landed at the number one spots in numerous countries. Four other hits, co-written by Iglesias, appear on the current album of the English pop band "The Hollies". In 2000 Iglesias participated in the creation of the interesting Off-Broadway musical, called "Four guys named Jose and una mujer named Maria". The story in this musical is about four American Latins who have a common interest in music and decide to put on own new show. Their performance contained many allusions to well-known classic and contemporary Latin and pop songs by Carmen Miranda, Selena, Richie Valens, Santana, Ricky Martin and Iglesias himself. Enrique will present his new album "Insomniac" on 15 June 2007. The first single from it will be "Do you know the ping pong song".
